(this is the official site for the American Kennel Club that lists the specifications
as they see the Yorkshire breed)
This is our little boy, named Elvis by KG.
He is about 6 inches long head to tail tip, and weighs around 3/4 lb.
His color will most likely be the blue and gold (one of the 4 colors of Yorkie).
He has a short nose like his mom and dad,
one of the things that I particularly looked for in the sire as I had in my little Latte.
(I looked through several litters and for many months to find this face! it is important to me!)
The tan mingled with the black is just part of his puppy coat, but it also is an indication of his adult color. These babies will have silky hair, not wavy or fluffy.
The little female is about 1/2 inch shorter bodied than Elvis with the same tiny face and short nose. KG named her jewel because of her shiny coat and just because it fit. Jewel's ears are already beginning to stand. We'll see as she gets a fuller coat.
She weighs slightly less than her brother, but (right now it appears) both will be between 4-51/2 lbs when grown. You can double their weight at 12 weeks and know pretty close to their adult size. Jewel will be a darker blue coated Yorkie. She will still most likely turn out to be blue and gold, just a darker silver blue color.
I am putting this information on this blog because I am praying for the right families to have these little ones. They are the last babies Latte will have, and they will be some family's best friend, just like my Latte is for me. Latte's last litter Ginger and Bean have been great companion dogs too. Bean is around 4 pounds and Ginger is about 5. Latte weighs 5 1/2 and the sire, Blue, weighs 3 1/2 pounds. I hope you enjoy seeing our little ones as much as I enjoy showing them to you!
Bless you bunches!
